The event was attended by many important guests: Mr. Martin Klus, State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Slovak Republic; His Grace Andrej, Bishop of the Serbian Orthodox Eparchy of Austria and Switzerland; Mr. Momčilo Babić Ambassador of Serbia to Slovakia; Colonel Jozef Paluba, bishop's vicar of the Military Ordinariate of Slovakia; Mr. Jozef Viskupič, President of the Trnava Self-Governing Region; Mr. Gergő Holényi, mayor of Veľký Meder and Mr. Marek Sobola, Tree of Peace founder and CEO of Servare et Manere. Representatives of the associations of Serbs from Slovakia were present, as well as many other friends of our country. Not only important and rare guests, but an Honour Guard of the Slovak Armed Forces and also volunteers in historical uniforms of the Serbian Royal Army from the Czechoslovak Legionary Community added nobility and seriousness to the whole event. The planting took place under the Royal Patronage of His Royal Highness Alexander, who sent a letter of greeting to all present guests.
In 2018 Marek Sobola founded our project Tree of Peace, which has already been successfully implemented into 10 countries on three Continents. To date Trees of Peace have been planted in Uzbekistan, Liechtenstein, Slovakia, the United Kingdom, Germany, Serbia, the United States, Russia, Poland and Austria. This international project is not the memorial of wars. It is a memorial of the victims and historical memory. This project celebrates peace. Slovak Post issued a Commemorative postmark on the occasion of the 100th Anniversary of the Death of the King Peter I Karađorđević of Serbia and planting of the Tree of Peace.
