The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Nikola Selaković, ended his visit to Slovakia with a meeting and conversation with the representatives of three Serbian associations in that country.
On this occasion, the interlocutors discussed the modalities of support and assistance for improving the functioning of the associations, through the Directorate for Diaspora of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
They also discussed joint activities in the preservation and protection of military memorials, as well as the Serbian spiritual heritage and the use of the Serbian language in Slovakia.
Representatives of the associations informed Minister Selaković that it is estimated that about 6,000 members of the Serbian national minority currently live in Slovakia, which has had that status since 2010.
They pointed out that there are even third generations of Serbs living in certain parts of Slovakia, saying that this is a confirmation of how long the Serbian community has been present in this area.
